A week ago Friday, we set out on an adventure to Florida with Lulu, Poppy, Uncle Trevor and Aunt Jackie. It took me an entire week to get us ready to go. It's so wonderful to rent a house and drive, because you can take whatever you want/need. Seventeen bags later (yes, that's 1 - 7), our car was loaded and we were southbound!
We left on Friday afternoon and drove to Mississippi. Saturday morning we drove the rest of the way and we were so glad to finally get there. I cannot brag on Addi enough. She was perfect in the car!!! She is now 100% a TV junkie, but at the time, we didn't care. I lost count after we watched Nemo for the 8th time, but I know the count was well into to the twenties by the time we made it back to Oklahoma! I didn't necessarily watch it that many times, but I at least heard it that many times. I woke up on Sunday morning after we got home and in my head I was reciting "P. Sherman, 42 Wallaby Way, Sydney"!
Seaside, Florida.
Heaven on Earth.
It's simple.
It's classy.
It's perfect.
It's a way of life.
Odessa Street...
73 Odessa Street was our home and it was wonderful!
We have been watching the oil reports very closely and at one point even considered not going to Seaside this year. I am so glad we took our chances! Look at this view!!
Saturday afternoon and evening we spent unpacking and grocery shopping. We went to one of our favorite local spots for dinner, Bud and Alley's!
Sunday we were up bright and early to head to the beach. Addi is so funny about things, and I knew she would either love the sand or totally hate the sand. Which do you think it was?
"Hummmmm. I don't know about this..."
"Daddy, I said I wasn't sure about this!"
"I just want to sit in Lulu's lap to stay clean!"
If Addi even got one grain of sand on her, she would shout "Mama!!!! Dirty!!!!! Wipie!!!!!"
Jackie & Trev
At the kiddie pool enjoying some lemonade!
Getting ready for our shrimp boil.
"Why are there newspapers on the table? We don't do this at home!"
What a feast!!!!
Are you getting hungry? I am!
While we cleaned up dinner, Addi and Lulu played with Play-Dough.
Then we headed down to the Amphitheater to let Addi run around. There are always tons of kids just running and Addi loved it!
She met some new friends from Tennessee...aren't they cute!?
Then Addi sweet talked Poppy/Trev/Daddy into a snow cone from Frost Bites!
I mean seriously, who could resist that face?
The rest of us enjoyed some ice cream from Heavenly's...
And Addi thought she'd help us enjoy it too!
Day 2 tomorrow...

LOVE LOVE LOVE that place, it really is my favorite place on earth! Glad you had fun and made some great memories!
Only your child would be asking for a wipie at the beach!! Love it!!
Looks like you guys had a great vacation!
what a perfect 'day 1'!! can't wait to see the rest of the week - oh, wait, i already have! he he!!
I have to ask, 17 bags for the whole clan or just the Hofmann family? Looks like fun! From what I understand, lots of Florida is suffering from misinformation on the oilspill.
