nature walk

One beautiful Sunday afternoon Addi and I were tired of being cooped up inside and decided to go explore out behind our house.  We live on a green belt so there's lots of exploring to be done out there!  We took a sack with us to take home any treasures we found.

Finding leaves and sticks...

She loved going back and forth across the bridge and looking at the creek below.

Then I told her to sit on the bridge so I could set the timer on my camera and take a picture of the two of us...

Oops!  I love the look of terror on her face!

When we got home we had to take everything out of our sack so we could study our treasures.

We mainly came back with pinecones in our sack so we could make pinecone bird feeders

We haven't had time to make them yet, but I'm sure we will soon!

fall to do's

Obviously we are well in to fall, but here's a little sneaky peek at what's on our fall to-do list. Fall is my absolutely MOST favorite time of the year!  We've had fun checking a few things off our list and can't wait to do even more!
Happy Fall Y'all!

summer list

Well summer is over half way over and I'm just getting around to posting about our summer list!  Oh well.  I made this list long ago but just printed it last week and posted in our kitchen.  Since it's been posted, we've been able to check several things off our list, but here it is before our checks!

We're having a great summer...how about you?

baby harper is on the way!!!

Some of our dearest friends, Clark and Amanda, are expecting their first baby in about a month!  Her name is Harper Christina and we simply cannot wait to meet her!!!

Last weekend there was a couple's shower for the new family of 3 and of course, we couldn't miss it!  Scott and I went to Tulsa for the weekend and loved every minute of spedning time with the Neely's!

Doesn't Amanda look darling??  She is ALL BELLY!!

Look how excited they are!!

Love them!

Here is Amanda's reaction to our gift!

I think she liked it!  It's a door canvas for Harper's bedroom and for hospital room!

Clark and Scott have been best friends since college and when they get together, it's just like the good ol' days!  Clark and Scott were talking about getting "iced" with a Smirnoff Ice and even "Iced" a few people at the shower...classy boys, real classy!

We went out after the shower and ended up getting in really late and Scott hid an Ice under Clark's pillow!
Clark got Iced at 2:16am!!!  Look at how proud Scott is!  I'm pretty sure I could dig out some old pictures of these two with the excact same faces!

Boys will be boys!

But always remember, paybacks are hell!!
There was an Ice in Scott's golf bag on Sunday!
Take a knee, Scott!

We had the best weekend with the Neely's!  See you in a month to meet Miss Harper!

buffett 2010

This weekend, Scott and I headed to Dallas with my family for our annual Buffett Concert Weekend trip! Jimmy plays in Frisco every year around this time and it has become an event not to be missed by this clan! We arrived about 8 hours before the concert and tailgated all afternoon!

With Trevor and Jackie

Jackie's parents, Sherri & Ted came this year too.  Allen Long also made the trip!

LuLu tailgating

Nice hat Trev!

Pizza Hut Park, here we come!

Well hello, Jimmy!

Fins to the left...
Buffett is always such a fun weekend!  We're so glad we got to go again this year.  Until next year...

pretty much a bust

Scott and I took Addi to the Oklahoma City Zoo over the weekend.

We were so excited to see her face light up when she saw the animals!  Here she is right when we got there!

Our excitement quickly faded when we walked inside the children's zoo and we saw the look or horror on Addi's face! She was scared to death. We found the monkey cage and thought surely she would like them, but when a monkey came up close to say hello, it was over! We tried rabbits, goats, pigs and donkies...the answer was a definite NO.

We finally made our way to the aquarium and she lightened up some.  She liked running around looking at the different tanks of fish.

Next we were off to make a wax animal.  Scott was more excited than Addi was about it!  He remembered making them when he was young!  Addi was not impressed with her new wax lion...

Then she finally grew to like it.

All in all Scott said he'd give the zoo a 4...

on a scale of 1 to 20.

Addi just did not dig the zoo.  We'll keep talking it up and try again at the end of the summer.

Oh well, at least we tried!

dallas weekend

This past weekend Scott and I went to Dallas with a group of frineds for the big boxing fight at the Cowboy's Stadium: Pacquiao vs. Clotty!  It was such a fun weekend!  We stayed at the NYLO hotel in Las Calinas which was so cool.  It was so modern and sleek, but very neat.  I didn't want to cart my huge camera in to the fight, so I just took in my old smaller camera...and wouldn't you know the battery died?  Here's what a got...

 vs.

On the gigantic big screen!

Evan made friends with some men in the row behind us who had a Filipino flag...they really thought they were hot stuff!

I think Evan made their night!!

We had an absolute BLAST!!! Fun times with good friends...lots of memories!  I won't go in to details here since this is a family blog...I'd like to keep things G around here!

Thanks to the Adler's, Roberts', Niebur's and Reddell's!!!  We can't wait for our next adventure!
