christmas dance party

So maybe I'm starting to come around a little and the terrible funk I've been in is beginning to fade. That being said, catching up on this blog is going to be a daunting task.  Never the less, it needs to be done and I will feel so happy when I'm up to date! So picking up where we left off...

Dance party time at Massay's!  This was a bit of a strange class because it was much longer than their normal 45 minute class and it was combined with a few other classes.  Each class danced for the others for about an hour but there were no mommies allowed (BOO!!).  Then the door opened and the longest train of little dancers came through the lobby and in to the small dance room for their "party".

Here comes the train...

I'm telling you, this is a well-oiled machine!  There was tape on the floor in a grid and the girls choo-choo'ed around the tape and ended up on a spot with a plate.  Once everyone was in place, they sat and ate their goodies.  It really was hysterical to see!

I was pretty bummed because my girl wasn't by her friends, but it didn't seem to bother her one bit. I was proud of her for being a big girl and not making a big deal of it.

Red icing. Oh. My.

She was so super careful with her chocolate cupcake and red icing, but she did end up with crumbs and smudges in her tutu.  She gave it a really good try though!

One very happy and very sticky mess!

first dance class

The time finally came for Addison to start her dance class!!!  She had been talking about it for WEEKS so she was thrilled that it was finally here!

Entering the studio...
Isn't it SOOO girly in there?  Addi thinks she's died and gone to heaven with the purple sparkle floors and leopard carpet!

Tap shoes!

Olivia loved playing at the train table before class.

Addison, Mackenzie and Gabby all ready to go!

Checking in with the teacher.  As we drove to class we talked about how she had to speak up in class and say her name very clearly for the teacher.  I was SOO proud because she walked right in and said her name loud and clear for the teachers!  Way to go Addi!

I never in my wildest dreams thought her two-tails would be this long!

bouncing...

hands on hips...

booty shakes...

boogy-woogy...

and then they shut the door!

DARN!

She must have a great time because when they opened the door she was all smiles!  And she even got a purple lollipop!!!

Can't wait to go back! Let's just hope she likes recital this much!

dress rehearsal

While we were in Ardmore, my mom's best friend (and my God mother), Shannon, brought Addi a surprise!  She was in NYC with Whitney and bought Addi a new leotard and tutu!  She was elated!!!!

Shannon invited her to come watch one of her dance classes that afternoon.  On the way to the studio, Addi informed mom and me that she was going to dance and we were going to clap for her.  I said sure, but never took her seriously.

I took Addi into the dance room and we sat at the front as the class started.  She tapped on my shoulder and whispered in my ear that she really wanted to dance!  I told her she could stand in the corner and twirl a little bit.  Well when "dance teacher Annie" invited her to join the class she ran right out there and squeezed her way in the formation.  Oh wow.

These pictures are the poorest quality, but I only had my cell phone.

Doing turns across the floor...

The funniest part of this picture are mom and Shannon peeking in the window!

Jazz walks! Put on your high heals, hand on your hiney and lots of sass!

Thanks so much Shannon!!!!

Once we got back to LuLu and Poppy's house, she had to change into another tutu...she has an entire costume closet from Shannon!
