storage solutions

I am in MAJOR clean out/organizing mode right now! Our guest room that is now going to be Addi's new room was basically full of all of my stuff! That closet was home to office supplies, craft supplies, files, sewing stuff and so much more!  Well I've had to get really creative with my spaces!

I'm a huge fan of the over the door shoe pockets right now!

Here are where most of my craft supplies now live...in our hot water heater closet.

I also put some in our hallway closet for miscellaneous items...

And our office supplies.

I know I already posted about this in one of my "for the love of labels" but as Addi has accumulated more art supplies, I've had to get more tubs!  She's now almost totally taken over one of my kitchen cabinets, but I like having her stuff there for easy access so I didn't mind giving it up.

Well since our "office" is now in the linen closet, I've moved our spare sheets into a tub that slides under our bed.  (More under the bed storage coming soon).

I labeled on both sides of the interior of the tub so the correct sheets would get put in the right place.  It also has their size and color and since they're all different sizes, this is helpful!

Afraid your sheets will smell like plastic?  Just be sure to fold up a few dryer sheets and tape one to the inside of the lid and you'll be fine!

Well that's all for now.  I've got more coming though.  I know this is going to keep you on the edge of your seat, but try not to lose sleep over this! Ha!

for the love of labels: addi's closet

When I was pregnant and registering for gifts, I fell in love with these canvas boxes/baskets from Pottery Barn Kids.  They just seemed so practical to me.  I ended up with several in both the small and large sizes and they have been wonderful to have!  I've used them in her closet on the shelves that Scott installed for me and I also use them in her armoire. I love that I can change out what's in them and just make new tags for the fronts.

I also LOVE these little rod dividers.  They are so great and come with stickers all the way to size 8!  They really helped when Addi was a tiny baby because so many people gave us clothes at our baby showers in all different sizes.  I didn't want here to not wear something because I didn't have it with the right size clothes. Just trust me...they hare great to have and very inexpensive!

for the love of labels: baskets

Baskets are tricky.  Sometimes you want labels and sometimes you don't...it just depends on how they're being used I guess.  Recently I got a new cube system to use at our backdoor because I was so tired of things being dumped in the kitchen and on our bed.  I got it at Target and they also carried cube baskets that fit just perfectly inside.  I wanted to somehow label what was inside each basket, but I wanted it to be cute (aka I didn't want to pull out my label maker and make tapes to stick on the piece of furniture!).  I decided to make cute bag tags and tie them on with ribbon.  I think they turned out pretty darn cute!

I also made some for Addi's baskets that are on her bookshelf.
They have her "food" in them that she plays with in her kitchen.

The possibilities are really endless...happy labeling!

doh!

Addi has been loving her Play-Doh so much lately!  Her favorite part about playing with it is taking it out of the canister and then mushing it back into the canister.  There isn't a whole lot of actaul playing that takes place.

Ready...Set...Play-Doh!

Here's a little "For the Love of Labels" shot for you.  Play-Doh and Crayons both are stored in a lower kitchen cabinet in these little locking tubs.  They are easy for Addi to use which is really nice.

Addi loves to stack the little canisters like her blocks and then knocking them over.

Addi gets in such a zone when she smooshes her doh.

Check out these two peas in a pod and their facial expressions!

"Daddy, don't put the doh on my head!"

"Oh you're putting it on your head?"

"That's so silly! Daddy!!"

Look at Addi's creation!

Play-Doh is fun for building tall towers...

Play-Doh is also fun for pinching and poking!

"Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere..."

"Wait...what?  I don't want to clean up!! No Mama!!!!"

I see many more Play-Doh dates in our future!

for the love of labels: garage

In preparing for my garage sale, I cleaned out quite a bit "junk" in the garage and got everything organized.  It's such a great feeling to have things organized and put away.  Here are a few labels I used in the garage...

for the love of labels: bags

You all know by now about my love of labeling things...everything...anything!  I also LOVE making bag tags that coordinate with all of my different bags (Liz is guilty of this too!!).  I cannot even begin to guess how many bags I have! You can ask my mom, my love of bags started at a very young age.  I always have a tote bag for every occasion and day of the week.  Here are some of my bag tags (the backs are usually in a coordinating pattern with my/Addi's full name and phone number).

This is one of my favorite bags ever!
Scott gave it to me for Valentine's Day when we just found out I was pregnant.
He thought I could use it for baby things.  I love this Vera Bradley pattern and I love this bag even more!
I will never get rid of it...ever!!

One of our beach bags from last summer.
It's about time to dust them off and get them packed for the pool again!!!!

You can't read this one well in the picture because it's yellow, but it's pretty cute in person...
especially on my Vera Bradley Market Tote!

This picture really isn't that grea, but I really love the color combinations on this tag.

This is a new one that's on my bag that I carry to work every day. I'm loving it!

I also just made a new one for my camera bag...loving it too!  The back is black and white damask.

Video camera bag.

Addi's wagon/park backpack.  The bag was gray and orange, so I needed a way to spice it a up a little...I think the pink and orange flowers did just the trick!

Addi's main diaper bag.

I've got dozens more, but these were handy to take pictuers of and some of my favs.  I've also got several that are worn out and need to be replaced.  I have the replacement tags...I just haven't done that little project yet.  Here are some of my new tags:

I realize now that they're really hard to see on that busy patterned background, but I'm not taking those pictures again, so it's as good as it's going to get!

By the way, Liz and I share our designs so I can't take all the credit!  She did the cute ones!
