happy birthday scott

Scott's birthday is the day after Christmas.  Addi wanted to make him a pink cake this year...good thing he likes strawberry cake!  LuLu had lots of different sprinkles to choose from, but it was such a hard decision so Addi ended up using them ALL!

Prettiest cake i've ever seen, honey!

So I decided to do what all great mom's do and let their child pick out anything for their daddy's birthday!  I actually took her to the dollar tree and let her pick out 10 treasures.  It was hysterical!  Scott didn't quite know what to do with his 10 extra special birthday gifts, but they were all priceless!

The HUGE party hat was one of his 10 things but it wouldn't fit in the bag so he got it before he opened the rest.

I don't know who was more excited to see him hope it, Addi or me!

"Wow. Ring pops?"

"Yes daddy. And you can share with me."

Wasn't that sweet of her?

"Oh. And marshmallows!?!"

A sea foam green pumice stone.

A 100 piece Buzz Lightyear puzzle..."because daddy loves doing puzzles with me!"

Rubber ducky bubbles.

Christmas balls

A 10 pack of paper cups with Santa on them.

Green body wash

and...drum roll please....

a green porcelain angel!

She has never been more proud!

"Can I have one now?"

And let's not forget the Alvin & the Chipmunks (aka chicken-munks) singing card that she insisted on!

Addi picked out a card from Halle and it was a Christmas card with reindeer on it.

After making our way back home, we celebrated that night with her cake!  Scott's face was priceless when he saw the cake!

"Make a wish daddy!"

"Now blow them out!"

This is Scott's "you've lost your mind for giving her free reign over the sprinkles" face!

and a big TA-DA and special thanks for my special birthday helper...couldn't have done it without you sweetie!

Happy Birthday, Scott!!
At least you aren't dirty-thirty anymore, right?

more christmas and a birthday

Our poor girl is so spoiled rotten that she actually got tired of opening gifts!  We came home with 18 unopened packaages just for her.  It took us a few days to finally get them all unwrapped, but we did it!!

On the 26th we came home to Norman and had a nice, quiet day at home with just the 3 of us.  It was actually nice to just have some time to digest everything and sort and put away our things.

Here is our tree when we got home with Addi's "leftover" gifts!

She finally decided to unwrap a few...

A new crown and earrings!!  What a princess!

And let's not forget that the 26th was Scott's big birthday!!!
Addi and I made him a strawberry cake!

She ate more sprinkles than she put on the cake...oh well.

After take-out from Charleston's we sang, ate cake and opened gifts!

Thinking of his wish...

and blowing out the candles!

The two bakers!

We had a great day detoxing from all our Christmas excitement and celebrating a low-key birthday at home.  We hope Scott had a wonderful day too!

a big surprise!

Scott's birthday is the day after Christmas and I've never thrown him a party because people are usually still Christmasing with family.  Well this year he turns 30 and I couldn't let it slip by like every other  year!  With the help many people, I pulled off a surprise party for him the week before Thanksgiving!  I planned it so early in hopes that he wouldn't expect anything and also so more people could come since it was before holiday happenings begin.  I was so excited about it and almost gave it away so many times.  I mailed a fake invitation to our houes so Scott thought we were going to a surprise party for our friend Sean.  He really had no clue, which made it so much fun!!!

He was surprised and confused...

especially when Sean jumped out!

Still trying to figure out what's happening!

Check out the yummy cake my high school friend Casey made!  It was so tasty!  The top layer was strawberry and the bottom layer was lemon!!

30 candles...that's right!  They took a while to light!

Scott's mom made him a photobook.  Everyone had so much fun looking at pictures of him when he was little!

Stuart, Scott, Shelby and me

Our friend, Teal

Loving the photobook!

A special thank you to everyone who helped me lie and be sneaky!  It was well worth it!!!
