papa's birthday

Last week was PaPa's birthday and Addi got him an Academy gift card.  She thought he can stock up on some new fishing gear for the spring.  I think he liked it!

bunny hop

Addi's new trick is to hop like a bunny. She really gets some air too...check it out!

She's been fighting a nasty cough this week and has been to the doctor so many times, that she's not only learned to say "doctor" but she gets really excited about it!

Scott laughs at my disclaimers when there's random stuff in the background of my pictures/videos, but please excuse the tubs of maternity clothes in the dining room. NO! I'm not pregnant! My friend Suzanne returned them this week and they have not found their way into the attic yet.

Addi sleeps with a sound machine on in her room every night.  Since she was a tiny baby, we've turned on the waves before bedtime. 

She's recently discovered that among the several chioces is birds chirping.  She now walks over to her nightstand and says, "tweet, tweet".  She'll sit in her pink chair and wait for you to hand her the sound machine.  She loves just listening to the birds and 'tweeting' with them!

Pushing the buttons takes some concentration!

This post is for Poppy!  He gave Addi her first set of golf clubs for Christmas.  She just dug them out of the closet and is so in love with them...fore!

She hasn't really discovered that the bag rolls, so she likes to carry all three clubs at once.

She also likes to use two clubs instead of just one.

Dada just couldn't stand it, and had to give her a little lesson.

nack-nic

Addi is on a new medication that requires her to have food in her tummy before she gets it.  Since she has breakfast at school, she just gets a little snack with her milk in the morning now. 

The first morning, she sat on Scott's lap in our room and ate her Cheerios.  Perfect.

The second morning, she wanted down so she could walk around with her snack.  Not so great...we don't allow her to walk around with food.

The third morning, I decided to take a different approach.  I spread out a blanket on the floor and told her she was going to have a picnic in an effort to see if she would stay put instead of roaming with her bowl of Cheerios.  She loved it...a nack-nic!  That's snack picnic, just in case you were lost!

 
Let's just hope the new doesn't ware off any time soon!

a good find

I just love discovering good finds!  A few weeks ago when I was shopping at Target, I came across these little white square melamine dip bowls for $0.99 each!  I thought they were the perfect size for Addi so I bought 6.

 

I was at Ross this week and just happened to find a 6-pack for $3.99 so I couldn't pass up that deal.  I mean, look how perfect they are for her Teddy Grahams!

 

Did I mention that I bought a package of pastel colors and bold colors?  Okay, so I may have gone a little overboard on these cute little bowls, but I saw the opportunity for them to be educational when Addi is learning colors!  That sounds like a good excuse anyway, right?

 Way to go Mama!  Thanks for my new bowls...I just love eating my "nacks" out of them!!  Good find!

where does it all go?

Do you have a drawer in your home that is stuffed to the brim with pizza coupons, take out menus, phone numbers, etc?  So did we and I got so tired of finding coupns all over the place and loose pieces of paper crammed everywhere!  The solution?

I bought a half-inch 3-ring binder and page protectors.  I made a cover for the notebook and labels and tabs for each page protector.  I now have a sleeve for each category: Frequent Phone Numbers, Pizza Coupons, Other Coupons, Take-Out Menus, Grocery Lists, Sam's Lists, Menu Planners, What's in the Freezer List.  It makes life easier. 

I know I could have really jazzed this up and made it super cute with scrapbook paper and other goodies, but I didn't really care about that.  I just wanted something functional that organized our clutter.  I'd love to see what you come up with!  Leave me a comment and post a link!

oatmeal bath?

Mommy look!  I rubbed my oatmeal in my hair.  I know that my Aveeno makes my skin silky-smooth so I thought this would be good for my hair!

Uh oh!  Please don't be mad!  I didn't mean to...

Needless to say, a bath was required after this breakfast soiree!  The pictures really don't do it justice.  She had a huge glob right in the middle and had spread it out everywhere...even in her ears!

i think i peed a little

I just got a text from Addi's teacher.  This happened at lunch today:  

And I guess it happened last week too!  I was laughing so hard, I may have peed a little! I just can help it...I crack up every time I look at it. I guess she was just worn out and needed a little kitty nap to make it through lunchtime.  Looks like someone is going to need an early nap today!

new love

On the heals of Valentine's Day, I thought I'd share with you a new love of mine...Post-Its Labels!  Oh my gosh, how genius are these!?!  I picked up package of assorted of sizes at the Office Max last week and can't wait to put them to good use!!  Trust me, you will love them too!  The possibilities are endless...

closet drinker

I gave Addi her milk cup and about 2 minutes later I couldn't find her...I should have known she was in our closet!  She just loves it in there.  Such a silly girl!

pardon my mess

Please pardon my mess while I'm working on the blog.  I decided to give home sweet home a makeover last night.  I still have to play around with some of the settings so let's just say it's a work in progress.  So, what do you think?  Do you like this clean, simplified look better than the other one?  Scott is on the fence but is leaning toward liking the old, more colorful design better.  I'm currious to know what you think!

The pictures for my new header are from Addi's 1 year photos with Shannon Ho.  I know they are a little out dated, but they were just too beautiful not to use for a while.  Shannon graciously gave me permission to post them on my blog...thank you Shannon!  You'll remember from this post last November that Addi's eye was swollen in our retakes and she battled a nasty double ear infection in our first session.  Despite all of this, I'm still so in love with these images!  Shannon did such an amazing job!  Here are a few more:
