Monday, July 18

on the day of the 4th

The morning of July 4th we loaded up the girls and meet at our neighborhood entrance for the annual 4th of July parade!  Liz decorated the wagons this year.  Last year we had 1 wagon and this year we had 2 wagons and a stroller.  So much has changed in one year!

Here are A and O all loaded up and ready to go!

Halle was sleeping, like usual, but still looking very festive!

Addi was not impressed with the heat.

O was ready to rock and roll!

And E, well, she was a little hungry...

Mom of the year forgot to buy 2 red bows so Addi just had boring white rubber bands.  Maybe next year mommy will have her act together. Maybe.

What?  There are going to be SNOW CONES at the park!!!!

Parading to the park!  Thanks Sean for being the leader! Look at how festive their "float" was!!

Tons of bikes, wagons and strollers at the end of the parade!

Addi said she wanted to swing, but then changed her mind.

Time for snow cones!!

After naptime, we headed to the Warren theaters to see Cars 2.  We were all pretty excited about it, but in the end, it wasn't that great.  What a let down!

Good thing I had a blanket with me!  It was freezing in the theater and it was so loud I kept it wrapped around Halle's ears and I held her really close to my chest.  She never even flinched!

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th too!

4th of july (on the 3rd)

As we do every year, we went out to the country club for their annual 4th of July event.  They celebrated on the 3rd this year though, but it was kind of nice to just relax on the 4th.

Addi standing in line to get her face painted (which she didn't do once she got up there) and get a tattoo (which she refused to put on once she got it...good grief)!

Here's sweet Halle-girl just sleeping in the stroller

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA!!!!!

more celebrating!

On Sunday we headed down to Lone Grove to celebrate the 4th and Sherra's Birthday with Scott's family!  Since it's so rare that we are all together, we started the day with group pictures!

This is Sherra's mom and dad with 3 of their 5 great-grandchildren!

Addi was ready for some chalkin'!

Shelby and I stuffed some banana peppers using PW's recipe and they were goo-ood Clark!

Addi just ran around and acted crazy, which is pretty much normal!

She had a lot of fun with her Mimi!

And of course she begged Aunt Shelby to get in the pool with her and got her way!  She loved the raft!

And the turtle water thermometer!

Next it was time for bubbles with Papa!

She was being such a ham and even smiled for these pictures!!

Then it was time to ride in the "booger" to go feed the horses!

Dada was too cool to ride with us so he hopped on the 4-wheeler.

He just thought he was going to get to cruise around by himself, but then grandma decided she wanted to go too!  So funny!

He played nice and didn't even splash her with mud!

Here's the house from where the horses were.

Don't know which one this is...

Woah grandma! Nice do!

Addi wanted to see the "wissies" but from a safe distance...

Shelby had no interest...

Addi kept a very close eye on Papa and what he was doing with the "wissies".

She would only let HIM hold her inside the pin...not even me!

I felt like the PW photographing horses and cowboys!
My pictures didn't turn out quite as good as hers, but almost, right?  Not really!

She really just liked playing in the truck though!  I love the stray hair that's curled up in back!  So funny!

Just as a disclaimer, I DID NOT APPROVE OF THIS!!!!

OR THIS!!!

But she had a ball!

Papa bought her this cow chair several months ago and she has been terrified of it until now.  She ended up loving it.  Again, I have no idea!

Birthday girl!

We gave Sherra a Happy Everything plate and she loved it!

Then I decided to attempt a family picture.  You know how difficult that can be with a 21-month old!

What am I doing?  Addi and Scott look perfect! Way to go Erin!

"Addi, leave your bow in!"
Look at that face! She knew exactly what she was doing!  Little stinker!

EXACTLY!

So when the stars are all lined up right and this split second happens, all is right in the world!

It was the windiest day we've had in months so my hair was a wreck, but I still am so thankful that Sherra captured these sweet moments.

Addo was in rare form all day...getting close to the "wissies", sitting in the cow chair and even letting Jacob hold her!!  Especially while holding a firecracker!  What happened to my daughter??

Also, a little sidenote, I bought Addi a Bug Bands (go to their website here) and she wore this on her ankle Saturday night and all day on Sunday.  She didn't get one bug bite!  I bought a few more at Target yesterday since they worked so well! I would highly recommend them!
