snowed in: day 17

Just joking, but it really did feel like we were snowed in for 17 days!  We were all going stir crazy.  We got to go to work/school last Monday and Tuesday and then another storm blew in on Tuesday night.

While stuck inside, we painted with q-tips...

We played air hockey with straws and cotton balls...
(no pics of this activity since I was playing but you just sit on opposite sides of a table and blow the cotton ball.  If you blow it past the "goaly" off the table you get a point, but we didn't keep score.  Addi just loved blowing through the straw!)

And we made placemats!

Just pick out some scrapbook paper.  I went with 3 coordinating ones that I could mix and match on the placemats.

Next trace a plate and cup on the back of the paper.  Addi loved doing this part!

Since it's hard to trace around a napkin, you'll have to find something around the house that napkin-shaped.  I used a skinny notepad.

Then just cut out the pieces and glue them onto a 11x17 piece of paper.  I found some really cute silverware in Microsoft Clipart that I enlarged to be real sized.  Finally, laminate your placemats and you're done!  This is a great activity for teaching how to set the table and where the silverware belongs. A friends mom growing used to always say "Frogs Knit Sweaters" for fork-knife-spoon.

Yesterday it was almost 70 degrees and we hope the snow is gone for good!!!  Snow days are fun for about the first 30 minutes and then after that it's very hard. We like to get out of the house everyday and do something, so being cooped up inside was torture!!

Yay for warmer days!!

Seriously, I think the snow brings out your creative juices! Such good ideas. I know desperate times cause for desperate measures but I think you should consider a craft blog!
