summer olympics 2012

Well it looks like we will be heading to London for the Summer Olympics 2012.  Addi started gymnastics last week at Bart Conner Gymnastics Academy and let me just tell you, she was a ROCK STAR!!  I'm not just saying that because I'm her mom...Scott thought so too!!

She looked so much younger than the other girls in the class because she is so small and she has no hair.  All of the other girls had cute bows or pony tails.  The short hair could work in her favor though, because it won't fall in her face during her Olympic routine!

I'm just joking...we are not those parents!  Our main reason for enrolling Addi was to give her a chance to learn some structure (waiting turns, sharing, etc.) outside of her "school" setting.  After Olivia's party at Gymboree, I knew Addi would just love, love, love gymnastics!

She had an absolute blast...can't you tell?

Her feet never left the ground...we'll have to work on that!

Next were the parallel bars!

Next, run and jump (or crawl) on the cube...

and then jump (slide) off!

Miss Teresa helping with her backwards roll.  First you tuck your head...

then flip over...

land...

and stand up!
She needs to work on her "Ta-Da" at the end,
but for a first timer, I give her a perfect 10!!

The balance beam was her favorite in the routine room.  She really did surprise me with her balance!

Oh my gosh, this girl was in HEAVEN on this!  I think it's called the air tramp.
They were supposed to run down the white line, then hop, then log roll and then bear crawl.
Addi just sprinted from one end to the other and screamed both ways!

Every now and then she would stop in the middle and try a forward roll.

The last activity of the class was the foam pit.  The kids were supposed to jump in the huge pit of foam cubes but the teacher said it would probalby take a few classes before she felt comfortable.
Less than a minute later, Addi jumped right to Scott in the pit.  She really just loved it!
It made me worried about the swimming pool this summer!

Then she jumped to me!

At the very end, we went back to the classroom and sang the Conner Cubby song.
We don't know the words yet, but will soon!

Remember this face!  You might be seeing it in London!!

How cute! I remember Bart Conner...how could she not be destined for Olympic greatness when she goes to a gym owned by an award-winning Olympian?!?!

Go Addi! Keep on practicing for your big day in London, woohoo! She's a natural Erin. I can't wait to enroll Lucy once she's old enough. Addi and Olivia will have to teach her all the fancy tricks!
