Pull-Up!

On Wednesday evening, Addison started pulling up on her toy baseket in the living room. Not only did she pull up on her knees, but she started throwing toys out of her basket over her head...she's such a mess!

Addison's Nursery

So I've been following a blog for a while now called Kelly's Korner. Each Friday, she picks a room of the house and everyone posts pictures of their rooms. This week is Nursery/Children's room week. Since Addison's nursery is my favorite room of the house, I decided to play along this week! I've loved viewing everyone else's rooms each week and have gotten some great ideas to incorporate in our home. But for now, all you get is the nursery!

This canvas was given to be by my boss at the baby shower she gave me...isn't it just too cute?

This is her changing table and rocking chair. The chandelier is on a dimmer so I can use it as a nightlight. The chair was in my dad's room growing up. I had it made into a swivel rocker and had it recovered. It's just the perfect size for that corner!

I spent all last summer searching high and low for the perfect crib and fabric for bedding. My dear friend, Karrie, made the bedding and window treatment for me...isn't it just precious??

This is Addison's reading corner. I know she can't read quite yet, but we like to play over there anyways.

Here is her nightstand.

This armoire was in my grandmother's house. I "antiqued" it, recovered the inside and added shelves. It is wonderful storage and just perfect for that short wall between the closet and the door.

I have a thing for owls (I was a Chi-O in college) and I just thought these were perfect for Addison's nursery!

Here is the window treatment that Karrie made...LOVE it!

Another owl above the changing table.

This girl's got some clothes!

And for someone who has no hair, she sure does have a lot of bows!

This picture is special to us because we took it last summer in Seagrove Beach, Florida. This is how we told our families what we were naming our sweet baby girl! I looked all over for a mobile that I liked, and I never found the perfect one so I decided to make this one from paper lanterns. I think it turned out pretty cute!

Like I said, this is my favorite room in the house. Thanks for looking:)

BUSY Weekend!!

We had a very busy holiday weekend with lots of events, lots of fun and LOTS of picturs to prove it!

Scott’s sister, Shelby, graduated from Ardmore High School on Friday night, so of course we made a trip to Ardmore for the big occasion! There was a dinner before with lots of family and it was so fun to get to see them all. Addison was just perfect and LOVED all the attention…imagine that! It turned out to be a beautiful evening in Ardmore. Congratulations Shelby…we’re so proud of you!!

Saturday was definitely a day for the baby book! Not only did Addison start saying “la-la-la-la” and “bla-bla-bla-bla” but she also started saying (screaming) “DA-DA-DA-DA”!!!! Scott isn’t proud at all! These are just some random pictures with my mom and dad hanging out and chatting away!

When we got home Saturday afternoon, Scott painted our back wrought iron fence black…sounds like a simple task right? Well of course Addison and I didn’t buy enough paint the first OR the second trip to Lowe’s but on the third trip, we got it right! When Scott finished painting he was completely covered in black paint from the sprayer. He was a little frusterated so I didn’t even ask to take a picture of him. I sure wish I had though, because he looked so funny! The fence looks great…thanks for your hard work honey!

On Sunday, Sherra and Shelby came to Norman to watch Addison for me while I got ready for our Memorial Day cookout. Addison had a grand time…she got to go to the park and the lake to visit the ducks! Thanks MiMi and Aunt Shelby!!

We had a wonderful time with our friends Sunday night! There were kids everywhere and more food that you could ever imagine! Olivia is walking now so she, H.J. and Mackenzie were running circles around Addison. She wanted to crawl so bad to be like the other kids, but it just didn’t happen. She just sat on the floor and yelled “DA-DA-DA-DA”!! Of course we tried to get a picture of all the kiddos, but out of about 40 pictures, there wasn’t one with all of them looking at the camera…oh well! The “big” kids played Bocce Ball and in the end, we all had such a great time!

On Monday, Addison and I med Scott at the swimming pool at the Trails! I looked like the Beverly Hillbillies pulling in to the parking lot. I loaded Addison into the stroller so I would have free hands to carry our pool bag, towels, Scott’s bathing suit, the camera bag and Addison’s lily pad floatie. I was exhausted by the time we actually made it to the pool and got unloaded, but I was also excited for Addison’s first dip. In the end, the water was too cold and Addison cried her head off if her big toe even touched the water. Needless to say, we didn’t even make it into the lily pad floatie that is oh so cute (Thanks Liz and Olivia)! Maybe next time it will be warmer! Addison did love sitting on the towel in the shade and watching the other kids play though. She and Olivia also loved snack time! Mason joined us and brought her fishbowl toy. As you can tell, Addison loved looking inside for the fish because there were lights inside!

We had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend spending time with our family and friends and we hope you did too!
