What to do with all of the lovely artwork that is sent home from school??? After it's been displayed on her magnet board for a while, I stick them in folders and forget about them. Someday I will probably be sorry I took this approach, but for now it's out of sight out of mind! I bought plastic file boxes that have lids, made files for each classroom and that's where it all goes. I also put notes from her teachers and other fun things in there from her school days.
While I was at it, I made folders through 12th grade. Yes, I cried when I assembled them just thinking about Addison graduating from high school. I'm kind of a hormonal wreck right now!
I just shove this box in the top of her closet and forget about it until it's time to put some more memories in it. For now, this system works beautifully for me!

I LOVE this idea Erin! I've kept Lucy's papers, but have absolutely no system for them yet so this is perfect. Totally going to copy you, thanks for the great idea!
i love it too! i actually don't keep everything that comes through....sorry if this offends any of you! i take pictures of every piece of 'art'. then, sean and i pick our favorites from the group and we pitch the rest. my aunt just cannot grasp why in the world i wouldn't keep everything but we simply don't have room and i don't need 100 pieces of paper with random stickers on them...it's my hope to frame some faves some day.
