havin' a ball

Addison got a new ball today at Old Navy and she loved playing with it this evening. I couldn't really get a good picture of her because she never slowed down long enough for me to take one (with her eyes open).

9 months old!!

Addison turned 9 months old on Friday! It's so cliche, but I just don't know where the time has gone! She had her "well baby" appointment on Friday too and it went great. Addison loved playing on the table (sorry no pics this time) and kissing the baby in the mirror. I talked to Dr. Stacy about the food strike that Addi has been on for over a week now and she encouraged us to introduce more finger foods...we will see if that does the trick. Addison weighed 16 lbs, 6 oz and was 27 inches long. It's hard for me to remember how tiny she was when we brought her home from the hospital 9 months ago! We did get some bad news at the appointment though...she has double ear infections AGAIN! She's been very cranky lately so I've been giving her Motrin for teething pain...too bad she isn't teething. Oh well, live and learn right? We're just so incredibly thankful to have such a happy and healthy little girl!

Great G-Ma Eloise

Hi Great-Grandma Eloise!

I'm so sorry that you're sick...I hope you feel better very soon! I am going to be out of town when you have your surgery, but I will be thinking about you lots! Mommy told me that you and Great-Grandpa Bob read her blog every day to see what I've been up to. I just wanted you to know that we are all thinking about you and love you very much!

Love,

Addison

jazz in june!

Tonight was the kickoff to Jazz in June festival here in Norman (I think they announced it was the 42nd or something like that). Scott and I have gone every year since we've lived in Norman. It's really fun...there's great music, yummy food and we always see a ton of people that we know.

Scott and his group of guys are playing in a golf tournament this weekend at the country club (that actually started tonight) so Addison and I were left to entertain one another. Despite the heat, we thought we'd give Jazz in June a try. I called Liz and she and Olivia met us there. We had to leave before the music really got started but I think the girls had fun! They loved sitting outside people watching and eating their snacks. Olivia cruised around on foot and worked the crowd while Addi and I posted up at the table.

I didn't take these pictures until we were packed up and getting ready to leave so that's why the girls look a little sleepy.

sour?

Addison has been trying so many new foods lately. She makes the funniest faces, especially when something is sour. We didn't quite get her peak sour face, but this was pretty funny...she was eating a green grape!

Links-O-Fun!

winner, winner, chicken dinner

I'm not sure where that saying came from, but I still use it! I don't know who lucky number 2000 was, but Scott and Melanie Moulton were 2006 and that's the closest I've heard so far. Congratulations you two...sorry I don't have a really awesome prize for you!

ta-da?

I'm not sure why, but Scott and I (well mostly it's just me!) alway say "ta-da!!" when Addison does something cute, crawls, stands, eats, or just breathes! When we say it we raise our arms in the air and sometimes hers too and then we clap. Last Thursday night, she started saying "ha-da!" and raising her arms in the air! I forgot to tell Peg about it on Friday and when I picked her up Peg asked what "ha-da" meant. When I told her she just laughed. Addison is our little drama queen!

4th of July?

Well, it's not quite the 4th yet, but Addison was sporting one of her patriotic outfits today...a darling red and white stripe onesie with an navy blue butterfly stitched on the chest and a layered denim skirt. She was feeling pretty photogenic this morning so she worked the camera for a few minutes before we headed out the door.

new shoes, new shoes, addi has on new shoes...

show us what your shoes can do!

I can't believe that Addison is finally wearing a size 1!!! I told her she needs to sprout some feet before she can walk. These are her new "running" shoes...they make her crawl fast!

sometimes homemade toys are the best

Tonight Addison loved playing with this paper towel tube. It entertained her all night long and when we walked down to the Brown's house, we had to take it with us! She thought it was funny for us to talk through the tube to her. Then she tried, but she ended up just chewing it...oh well it was fun!!

Da Da Day

On Father's Day, we made breakfast tacos and enjoyed the morning. Scott headed to the golf course to play with his other Da Da friends and then we met the boys at the pool for some fun!

MaMa's BIG-O-Hat!

Liz took some other really cute pictures of all the girls and their DaDa's at the pool!

We love you Da Da!

I was THAT mom!

There are no pictures with this post. When you finish reading you will realize that I did good just to make it out of the store in once piece so stopping for a photo-op didn't even cross my mind!

Well to start things off, guess who forgot to take puffs into the store with her? Yes, that would be me. Addison wasn't about to sit in the basket like an angel without her puffs and she let everyone know about it! I headed directly for the baby department and popped open a canister right there on the isle. I put some in her little "pocket" on the shopping cart liner and she was golden! She loved them so much (I got a new flavor – Peach Mango! – in hopes to really capture her attention for a good hour). A few isles later, she thought it would be fun to play with the canister and shake it like a rattle. Anything to keep her happy! I just let her play while I hurriedly threw items into by basket. A few more isles later, Addison thought it would be funny to toss the canister out of the basket onto the floor. That's fine, I can play the cause and effect game. I know it helps them learn and develop...blah, blah, blah. Well she threw it a little harder and when I reached down to pick it up, I was horrified at what I saw on the floor...puffs everywhere!! I didn't have time to stop and pick them up and Walmart has people in blue vests all over the place cleaning things up, so I nonchalantly swept them under the shelves and kept going. Addi thought this was great fun and did it again. Well I'd had about enough of that and decided she couldn’t have the canister back. After sweeping the second spill under the shelves, I looked up to see that she had puffs stuck to her face. I started laughing and picking them off while pushing the basket. Boom! What was that? I look up to literally see 40 boxes of Kleenex (ironically Puffs Plus!) swaying back and forth. One second later...crash! The display started crumbling to the floor right before my eyes and boxes of Kleenex were everywhere! I might have said a bad word here...I really can't remember! I was totally embarrassed and just stood there frozen. I looked at Addison and not only are there still puffs stuck to her face, but she clapping! Oh I just wanted to die right there. A few people stopped as I was frantically reassembling the display. I nice young man who was a Walmart employee came to my rescue and told me not to worry about it and quickly began picking up boxes. I hurried off to finish my shopping and Addison kept dropping/throwing individual puffs all the way to the car. I could never deny that it was my child because we literally left a trail behind us through the entire store. That might just be Addi's last trip with mommy to Walmart for a while! Yep, I was THAT mom yesterday!

Happy Da Da Da Da Day!

Scott, you are such a wonderful daddy to our little girl and for that I love you even more! Happy Da Da Da Da Day!

Just Hangin' Out!

Addison has a new found love for hangers! It doesn't matter the color, shape or size, if she spots one on the floor, she makes a mad dash over to it and immediately puts it in her mouth, removes it and then bangs it on the floor! I'm not quite sure what that's all about, but it's pretty humorous to watch!

Pool Fun

We tried the pool again on Saturday and she LOVED it!!! Our summer is beginning to look better...Scott and I were very worried that she was going to hate the water. It took her a little while to get used to the water, but once she got in her floatie, there was no turning back! She had an absolute BLAST!!

(fake coughing)

We played with Mason and her daddy, Aaron.

Don't these two girls look just like their daddy's??

And then Addi and Daddy got some playtime!

Olivia came too and the girls had so much fun floating next to each other babbling back and forth!

I would say it was a very successful trip to the pool and definitely made the rest of the summer look much more enjoyable!!

Roughing It?

No, don't worry, we're not going camping!! I bought this tent to take to the beach with us so Addison can have a break from the sun. We couldn't just leave it in the box...of course we had to try it out! She loved sitting inside with her toys and talking to us through the net door. I never thought I'd have a tent in my dining room, but it's still there this very moment! Oh well...

Happy Anniversary

Today, June 12th, Scott and I celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary! Lots has happened in the past 5 years...good and bad, I wouldn't change a thing! I love you babe!!

A little of this...a little of that...

Addison had a so much fun last night pulling out ALL of her toys in her bedroom! I opened the armoire to put away some clean laundry and before I knew it, she was at my feet pulling out her toys! It started with the singing flower bouquet and then she moved on to Olivia's arcade toy. She ended up pulling out blocks, dolls, rings and shapes. They were all over the place, but it was hysterical watching her go from toy to toy just trying to play with them all because she could!
