summer list

Well summer is over half way over and I'm just getting around to posting about our summer list!  Oh well.  I made this list long ago but just printed it last week and posted in our kitchen.  Since it's been posted, we've been able to check several things off our list, but here it is before our checks!

We're having a great summer...how about you?

car organization

Since becoming a mom, my approach to everything (and I do mean everything) has changed...even my car!  Here are a few things that I do to make life easier!

There's a bottle of hand sanitizer in every door.  It's easy to squirt and sanitize quickly when getting in the car with dirty hands.  I sanitize after pumping gas, grocery shopping, etc.  I also wash Addi's hands with "fast soap" after I get her buckled in when I pick her up from school.

The bag in the driver's side door acts as my trashcan.  It's a great catch-all for kleenex, gum wrappers, straw trash, etc.  It doesn't hold a lot, but it's a better place for trash than my cup holder!  This is actually a pencil holder from the school supply isle at Target.

I also found this idea recently.  I'm sure I'll upgrade to this when I need something to hold more trash, but for now I'd rather not have something to roll around on the floor.  It's a great idea though!
Car Trash Can

On Halle's side of the car, I have her diaper bag in the floorboard.  You can get my diaper bag list of essentials HERE

On Addison's side of the car, I have my purple car tub in the floorboard.  It also acts as a great step stool so she can get in her carseat alone!  I have a seat organizer on the passenger's seat too.  I really don't like this one a whole lot, but it keeps the shoe scuffs off the leather.  It's Eddie Bauer from Target.  It only has 1 pocket and I'd prefer one that has multiple pockets.  I'll keep looking.

What's in the tub?
Panties
Wipes
Diapers
Pull-Ups
Canister of Clorox wipes
Burpcloths
Dry snacks (crackers, etc.)
Off brand wipes
Travel Dreft pen
Travel Lysol spray
Travel toilet paper
Baby sunscreen
Travel size Cetaphil lotion
Travel Kleenex pouch
Travel Q-tips
Small baggie with hair bands, clippies and brush
First Aid: Bandaids, spray Neosporin, alcohol wipes and gauze

What do you keep in your car that makes your life easier??  Do tell!

swimming lessons 2011

We didn't do swimming lessons last year and I really wanted Addi to be exposed to them this year.  Typically I would have done one of the first sessions, but since Halle was born mid-June, I thought it might be good for Addi and Scott to have a one-on-one activity after her arrival.  Addi started lessons on July 11th and went for 2 weeks.  These are pics from her first night.  She wanted to wear her swim suit that was a "little bit twirly" (meaning it has a little skirt on it) and she wanted 2 braids.  Guess she wanted to make a good first impression..ha!

Lookin' good sister!

Halle and I found some shade on the grassy lawn and hung out there during lessons.

Saying her name for the group.  I was so proud that she actually spoke up and said it herself instead of making Scott say it!  Way to go Addi!

Halle just hanin'  out.

Working on arm scoops.

She had a great first night and loved going for two weeks.  Pics from her last night coming soon...

good night

In an effort to stall the going to bed process, Addi was willing to pose for some pictures with Halle.  She knew that'd get me!

Halle is ready for bed, but...

Addi is not!  Ha!!

Here we are...all the "ga's" (that's how Addi says girls right now).

calendar girl - july 2011

Seriously, ONE MONTH already???  How is that possible?

Well, here's our calendar girl, July 2011.  Happy first month!

*Note to self...take less pictures next month!  Geez!  Sorry for the overload, but this was my narrowed down list!
