These are from my second "session" with Miss Halle.  I'm trying to get an image for her birth announcements... 

These were not taken in my studio (aka Halle's nursery)...they were on location (in our bedroom). 

Next we moved into the studio...

Well I'm sure this is the first of many photo sessions that I'll do with Miss Halle.  It was really an impromtu session.  She slept through a diaper change and the light was really great at that very moment so I grabbed my camera (which happened to already be in her room) and I just started clicking.  I've forgotten how fun it is to work with tiny babies who will sleep through anything! Ironically, I had an impromtu session just like this with Addison and she was wearing a white onesie with her name in pink.

I stripped her down to her diaper and kept snapping.  I used her new pink blanket from Great-Grandma Eloise in these pictures!

This is what she looked like perched on her Boppy pillow on the changing table.  It's all about where the great light is people!!

As you can imagine, holdng Halle is one of Addison's favorite things to do!  Here are some pictures of her in action!

Just look at that smirk on her face...she's thinking, "I'm a pro at this whole holding-the-baby thing!"

calendar girl - june 2011

Last summer, before I was even pregnant, I stumbled upon this really clever way to document monthly picutes of your little one's first year on Ashley's Blog.  Of course, please keep in mind that Ashley is a professional so please don't compare quality!  (She's the one who taught the SnapShop class that I attended in May.)  I fell in LOVE with the idea and have had it bookmarked ever since.  My friend, Liz, is actually doing the same thing with her daughter, Emma, and the pictures are so fun to see each month!  I sure hope I can keep it up!!

Obviously, these weren't taken of Halle right way.  In fact, they were taken on July 6th, so she was almost 3 weeks old.  Oh well, we had to start somewhere!

Happy June 2011 to my Calendar Girl!

Yes, my child is brilliant!  She's actually pointing to the 17th on the bottom of the calendar! What a smart cookie!! 

And I just had to show you guys my fabulous studio!!  Can you believe the wonderful space and light?  I mean, it's so practical and roomy! Every photographer's dream, really! 

say what?

It's been way too long since I've done a Say What? post!  Now that we've settled in and Addi is used to Halle being around, she's really started helping us out so much!  Here are some of her funny comments lately...

"Sally Halle" - right before Halle was born, Addison started saying "sally" instead of "silly".  We thought it was funny because it rhymed with Halle and now that's one of the nicknames that's stuck.  Sally Halle!

"Mama, can we borrow a mermaid dress from Target?" - A little girl in Addison's class had a Little Mermaid dress at school and Addi desperately wanted one too.  I guess she thought if she askee me to buy one, the answer would be no, so she just asked if we could borrow one...from Target.

"Brown bear, brown bear what are you looking at?" - I overheard her reading Eric Carle's "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What do you See?" book to Halle but she kept saying "What are you looking at?" instead.  It was pretty commical because she added a little attitude while she was reading.

"Mama, is she poopy...AGAIN???" - we hear this comment at lease 12 times a day now.  She thinks it's hysterical that Halle poops so much and is fascinated with the diaper changing process.  Of course, she always has to look at the poop and then tell me how "ooey" it is!

"Hey Soul Sister, it's okay.  Don't cry." - When riding in the car, one of our favorite songs to hear is Soul Sister.  When coming home from school one day, I overheard Addi say this to Halle when she started to cry.

"I'm here sweetheart.  It's okay." - I love hearing her say things that I say to Halle.  When Halle was getting upset, this is what she whispered to her and kissed her forehead.  So sweet!

"Her eyes are OPEN!!!!" - In addition to loving Halle's poop, Addison also loves it when Halle's eyes are open!  She screams it at the top of her lungs so everyone in the house knows "Her eyes are OPEN!!!!"

"Daddy!  There's a hot dog inside here!!" - We recently ordered Addison a corndog for lunch at a restaurant (and she's had them before) but this time when I cut the tip off so it could cool, she squeeled with excitement "Daddy! There's a hot dog inside here!!"  It was definitely loud enough for the entire section we were sitting in to hear and we saw some grins and heard some chuckles!
