back to school
Well I guess technically it's not back to school since Addison has never been, but she looked just darling this morning in her red and white striped Polo dress for her first day! She woke up a very happy girl and had a wonderful morning. LuLu got her an owl backpack and I had her name embroidered on it. The bag is bigger than she is and we don't take a bag to school with us each day besides her bottle bag, so Owlie didn't go with us today, but daddy thought she need her pic with it to get that "first day of school" look! Addison already knows one little boy in her class, William, and was very excited to see a familiar face. She did beautifully at drop off...she didn't even cry (I did, of course). I picked her up after lunch and brought her home for the afternoon. She was asleep before I could even back out of my parking space! There were so many new people and activities that she was just worn out! Tomorrow will be her first full day and then we'll have the weekend to regroup. Next week will be a fun new week with lots of excitement at big girl school!!

bittersweet
Yes, we are still alive! I know it's been so long since I've posted. We all survived Recruitment, but life has not slowed down one bit! Addison has just been busy learning and growing.
Today was a very bittersweet day at our house! This was the last day for Addison to go to Peg's house...in the morning she will start her new school. Peg has been so specail to us. She has loved Addison so much and has cared for her better then I could have ever imagined! She has taught me so many valuable things and has really become a wonderful friend to me! I've cried so many tears over this move, just anticipating the dread of saying goodbye to her. Dropping off this morning was difficult, but picking up Addison for the last time was awful!! Peg and I both cried buckets of tears. We both know that the move will be so great for Addison, but it's just going to be hard on us! I'm sad Addi won't have the chimes to ring in the morning when we arrive and in the afternoon when we leave. There are so many things that we're going to miss, but I know that Addison has so many new things to discover at her new school and new friends to meet. I've been told it takes "three weeks" to make the adjustment...I'm ready for our transition to be over! It will be hard to leave Addison at a new place tomorrow, but I know that she will be just fine! I pray for strength!!!
I snapped a few pics of Peg and Addi playing this afternoon!

daredevil daughter
Our daredevil daughter loves to climb not into, but onto her anywhere chair. She uses it as a step stool so she can look out the window in her bedroom. The other day, something on top of the nightstand caught her eye but it was too far out of reach. She then looked down and noticed another "step" on her stool, so she climbed right up on the arm of the chair and grabbed the Willow figurine ...what a smart child. She truly is becoming a monkey. I told Liz the other day we may have to skip the cute little playhouse in the backyard and go straight for the rock climbing wall!
(all of the "pretties" have now been removed from the nightstand so she's really not that intrigued anymore!)

box-o-fun
On Saturday, Addi and I went grocery shopping...what an adventure! We made it home and finally got the car unpacked. We had a load of goods that belonged in her bedroom so we made our way across the house. She pulled everything out of her bookshelves (see pictures below) while I put everything away. I turned around and this is what I found...to this very moment I have no earthly idea how she got in the box without me knowing!

She was so excited and pround of herself! I started dragging her around the house in the box and you can imagine the fun she had! Of course the faster and more wreckless I was, the more fun she had!!
