christmas with the roberts

We had our 2nd annual Christmas dinner (at Mazzio's buffet) and gift exchange with the Roberts on Tuesday.  The girls were SO excited!  Our dinner was super yummy and then we went to the Roberts' house for some fun!  Addi and MO loved playing with baby Emma on her blanket.  O and E are such sweet sisters!!  I can only hope A and her baby brother or sister are as sweet with each other!!

Present time!!

Addi got a very cool subscription to a kid magazine called "babybug".  Click HERE for the link!  I've never even heard of it before, but Liz said that O got one for her birthday and LOVES it!  I believe it's a 9-month subscription and they get little story books in the mail!  Such a cute and clever idea Roberts girls!!

They also gave Baby H a package of newborn diapers and a toy!  Such great friends!

We got O an Olivia the Pig book and the cutest Olivia the Pig tote bag!  I just couldn't resist when I saw it!

And we got E a softsided book called "The Fuzzy Bee".  It was Addi's absolute favorite book when she was tiny!  We thought E would enjoy it too!  Addi helped unwrap her gift since she was busy laying on the floor.  What a great helper Addi! (you can see O's bag under Liz's arm...it's so cute!)

Such a fun tradition with our girls!!  I don't know who had more fun...the girls or the parents!

gingerbread fun

Addi's sweet friend William invited us over to decorate gingerbread houses!  I wasn't able to go, so LuLu took Addi for an afternoon of fun (and lots of sugar!).

Addi jumped right in and started picking out her candy!

Ta-Da!  Addi did it all by herself...can you tell?

Here are all 4 kids and their houses.  Pretty funny that 3 of the 4 kids are eating, huh?

Kids with moms and grandmas!

Thanks for the fun William!  Tell your mommy and daddy thank you!!

christmas around the house

I wanted to post a few pictures of our Christmas things around the house.  I wasn't going to post pictures of our tree because it's very sad this year!  It started out beautiful, but now several sections of lights have gone out and it just gets sadder by the day, literally!  When I took pictures though, you can't really tell that half the lights don't work so here they are!

And I had extra stickers left over from our Christmas cards so Addi decorated some of our wrapped gifts with them!

Here's Addi's countdown calendar. She's sure loved getting a little prize each day and she has not let us miss one!  Last year it was on her bedroom door, but this year I hung it on the laundry room door.  We walk by it all the time so it's a constant reminder for her to be good so she can get her prize!!

I usually just put our Christmas cards in a cute Christmas tin, but Addi has LOVED looking at everyone's pictures so much this year!  I got 4 different kinds of ribbon and strung it across our double windows in our kitchen and we've been clipping them up each evening with clothespins.  Each morning as I'm pouring her milk cup, she'll stand in front of the window and say "Good morning Hudson!  Good morning Campbell! Good morning Charlie-Man!" and she goes through all the cards!  It's so funny!

(You'll have to take my word for it, it's much cuter in person!  I had to close the blinds so you could see the cards in the picture!)

Also, I took the close up pics last week and by now there's hardly room for anymore cards! We have so many wonderful friends!! Here's a quick pic that I snapped tonight!

I've just kept the jar of clothespins in the kitchen for easy posting each night.  We've really had fun with this!

I was really lacking inspiration this year so I decided to keep the mantle simple.  I actually really like it!  Aren't our stockings beautiful?  My mom needlepointed all of them (except Bailey's).  Addi's is actually mine from when I was a little girl and Mom just needlepointed her name on a new cuff.

All of Addi's prizes from her countdown calendar were spread out all over the house.  I got a basket to keep by the fireplace for all of her new treasures!  Now she knows were to look for all of them!

On the other side of the fireplace, I have a magazine rack with all of her Christmas books.  Again, these were strung out all over the place, so we needed a good spot for them to stay.  It's worked great!

Happy Everything wreath on the front door...I LOVE the little elf attachment!!

And I also love the Santa attachment too!

And this is our sugar corner!

I love hot chocolate so much in the wintertime so I decided to just keep some mix and marshmallows in canisters on the counter.

Yummy!

Here's our nativity.  Addi likes saying hi to baby Jesus when she walks by!

Have a Holly Jolly!

Fun things in the living room...

And here's Geoffrey!

'Tis the Season!! Hope you've enjoyed your Christmas season as much as we have!

school christmas party

Addi's school Christmas party was last week and boy was it fun!!  We signed up to bring cupcakes and Addi had so much fun helping me bake them and decroate them with sprinkles!

Digging in!!

Christmas decorations in the classroom and hallway

Ms. Monique and Ms. Deidre have been so great about taking pictures of the kids doing fun activities and posting them outside the room for the parents to see.  Last week they made Kool-Aid playdough and they let the kids to everything!  This picture absolutely cracks me up!  Ian and Addi had so much fun rubbing flour on each other!

My favorite girl is still loving her plate of sweets!  She had a cookie, a cupcake, fruit snacks and apple juice!  It's a wonder she took a nap!

Here's sweet Harper.  I didn't get a picture of her twin brother Greeley but they had on matching Santa hats!  They are too, too cute!!

Time to get cleaned up for circle time!!

It was so much fun getting to stay for circle time.  They kids LOVE to sing and dance!  Addi was chosen to help with the Itsy Bitsy Spider.  Apparently she does it better when we're not there, but she still thought she was pretty special to be the helper!

I shouldn't have announced that I was leaving before I got a picture with her, because this is what happened!

Addi and I made LuLu's Magic Reindeer Food again for her frineds in her classroom.  Here's the recipe!

LuLu's Magic Reindeer Food

Ingredients:
2 c. oats
2 c. sunflower tropical birdseed mix*
2 T. green decorator sugar crystals
2 T. red decorator sugar crystals

Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a 2-quart Ziploc bag. Make sure little hands don't reach in for a taste - this snack is for reindeer only!

*We didn't have the birdseed mix, but LuLu once told us that reindeer like Cheerios too!

Also, check out the new cupcake carrier I just got!  It worked perfect for transporting the cupcakes to and from Addi's school!

It has a lift out tray to make it very easy to get the cupcakes in and out!

And it's double decker so you can either take 12 or 24 cupcakes!!

I got mine at Dillard's.  Go HERE to see more info!
