candy cane brunch 2010

The annual Candy Cane Brunch at our country club was last Sunday.

Look at these two sweet girls!  Don't they look excited to see Santa??

So here's what happened when Santa made his big entrance!

Olivia about jumped out of her chair with excitement and Addi couldn't swallow or take her eyes off him.

After much rehearsal (at home) and coaxing we finally got a family picture with Santa Clause!  Addi had to sit far from him and was not happy about it all.  She only did it to get the candy cane and to tell him that she wanted PURPLE TOYS!

Here she is whispering "purple toys" to him...

Don't push your luck Santa...there's no way you're getting a high five!

That wasn't so bad!  Look at my candy cane!!

And sugar cookie with green icing...just like Tripp's!

We had a great time!  It was so much fun sitting with the Roberts and Adlers...crazy, but fun!!

easy shortbread cookies

Ingredients:
1 c. butter, slightly softened
3/4 c. powdered sugar
2 t. vanilla extract
2 c. flour
1/4 t. baking powder
dash salt
sprinkles

Directions:
Cream together butter, powdered sugar and vanilla extract.

Add in flour, baking powder and salt.

Mix together and divide into three equal portions.  Roll each portion into about an 8-inch roll.

Wrap in wax paper and chill for at least an hour.  I leave mine in for at least a day.

Remove rolls and unwrap.

Slice dough, dip into sprinkles (if desired).

Place on a slightly greased cookie sheet.  Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 10 minutes.  (Get them out before they start turning brown...they will look underdone).

Each batch makes about 40 cookies so be sure to double it...they are SO GOOD!!

christmas parade

Scott and I took Addi to the Norman Christmas Parade on Saturday.  We took her last year, but of course she doesn't remember it.  We told her we were going to a parade, but I really don't think she had a clue what we were talking about!  It was a really cold morning, but it was sunny so we decided to just bundle up and head out!

She was a little unsure when it started...

Okay this is getting better...

Candy?  Okay, I like parades!

Is that hat not the cutest thing you've ever seen?  LuLu and Poppy brought it and the matching coat back from Washington D.C. this fall.  Addi calls it her fancy coat!

A wally pop!!

Hi worsies!

Addi loved the parade so we will definitely be back next year!

christmas program 2010

Addi's school Christmas Program was last weekend.  She was the cutest little one with a reindeer on her dress and two tails for sure!!  Her class rang bells with the Busy Threes and sang "Up on the Housetop".  She stole the show, at least I think she did!!

Running around before the show started!

She got nervous waiting with Daddy and accidentally pulled out one of her tails...oops!  Mama got called in for a quick hair fix before it was her time to shine!

Getting set up on stage!

Showtime!!

Look at these two!  Are they not the cutest frineds?!?

Addi-Girl and Charlie-Man!

Addi's teachers, Ms. Deidre and Ms. Monique

Thank you to all the wonderful teachers and staff who worked so hard on the Christmas Program.  It was a huge success!  We appreciate ALL that you do for our sweet girl and all the kids!

christmas on the farm

Last week we went with the Roberts to the Orr Family Farm.  They do a great Christmas light display and you even get to ride on the train to see the lights!  We me there and the girls had a blast!  MiMi and PaPa even came with us and Shelby and Jacob.  Addi is one spoiled little girl!!

So excited to see each other!

Coincidence?  I think not!  These girls have two clever Mamas!  The girls even wore their "spotty shoes" just like the elf shoes!!

Watching (from a safe distance) the horses.

Liz took my picture!!

Heading to the train!!

In the shop buying popcorn.  What are these two silly girls doing?  Who knows?!?

Addi's gang!

Eating kettle corn!  YUM!!

Watching the lights!

The Roberts gang (E was asleep in the stroller).

More fun times with the Roberts FOUR!
