painting for baby halle

In preparing for Halle's arrival, I've tried to involve Addi as much as possible.  In finishing up Halle's room, I decided to have Addi paint a few canvases just for her little sister.  I primed them one night after she went to bed and then we painted them the next day.  She could not have been more excited!!!

I didn't give her any direction...I just let her do exactly what she wanted.  They are precious!!

On the pink canvas I told her I would do her handprints if she wanted and she said YES!!!  We very carefully painted green paint on her hands and made the cutest little green hand prints.  I went to wash the sponge brush out and when I turned around she had painted brown over the handprints!  Oh well!

It helps to be inspired if you sing while you paint!

We found the perfect little spot for them on the wall above Halle's bookcase.  Addison could not be more proud!

strawberries & chalk

This is just a random post about eating straberries and playing with sidewalk chalk.

Addi's vocabulary has exploded lately and it's pretty bittersweet when she starts pronouncing words correctly.  For the longest time, she would say "strawbee" and now she says "strawberry".  My girl is growing up!!

Even though she's getting so big, she still has moments (seconds really) where she looks so little to me.  I cherish those times because they are dwindling.

We're still drinking "Halle water" from the baby shower.  Addi thinks it's pretty fancy to have water bottles with Halle's name on them!

After dinner sidewalk chalk with daddy.  She refused to turn toward me and the car was on the other side of her so i just got her little pony tail sticking up in the air instead of her face.  Oh well.

Scott traced the two of us and then I traced him.  It looked pretty bad having 3 body outlines at the foot of our driveway.  And of course, they were there for days!

Fun times Addi-girl.  Fun times.

evening at the park

We've had lots of weekday evenings and weekend afternoons at the park lately.  The weather has just been too beautiful to not be outside having fun!

Typically we go visit the duckies first, but on this particular trip, all Addi could think about was getting across the street to the park!

Let's GO!!

Swings are always the first stop, and if it's not taken she alwasy chooses the "pink" (it's just faded red/orange) swing.

She also loves the BIG slide!!

Look at that hair!!

Next stop, the monkey bars!

Then a few more slides...

She loves to walk the beam too!

And what's not to love about the dome bars!

Look at this crazy girl!

Oh I can just hear those sweet giggles now!

Last stop, the teeter totter.  Mommy is pretty unbalanced right now, so this activity was short-lived!

Yay for good weather and fun trips to the park!  We're so spoiled having a great park and duck pond in our neighborhood!

waking up to this...

This is becoming something normal for us to wake up to...sometimes in the middle of the night and sometimes in the morning.  How funny is that!?!  She just makes a little tiny pallet with her lovie right inside our bedroom door and goes to sleep.  I know it's a terrible habit, but sometimes we just have to laugh about it.

Crazy girl!
