mother's day 2011

I am so blessed to be a mother to my sweet girl.  Seriously, I couldn't ask for more!  My mother's day was very low key, but at nearly 32 weeks pregnant, that's exactly what I wanted.

My day started at 6:15 with Addi in our bed saying good morning.  I didn't care one bit.  She's always super sweet first thing in the moring...her voice a little raspy and her hair always crazy. 

Scott went to Starbucks for us and brought back pumpkin bread and coffee...two of my absolute favs! After breakfast, we were off to Target as a family to do a little grocery shopping and then back home.  Addi decided to take an extremely long nap!  I looked on the video monitor at one point and she was sitting up in bed so I went in to get her.  She asked me to snuggle with her for a minute (and I couldn't resist) and we both ended up sleeping almost for another hour!  Pure heaven snuggling with my girl, her sweet chest rising and falling in unison with mine.

After we both woke up, Scott took us to the park.  It was a beautiful day, but very windy.  If you read my status on facebook you'll remember my extreme frustration with freshly applied lipgloss on a windy day (with no ponytail holder, I might add). 

Guess who was still a bit sleepy when we got there.  Look at her just staring.

Her absolute favorite thing at the park...the swings!!!  She was in the red (aka PINK) swing for nearly 20 minutes! 

Scott finally took her out of the swing, hoping she would run, play, slide, or climb...anything but swing.  She wasn't excited about that idea. 

especially when Scott went to play instead of pushing her.   

After a quick trip across the street to see the duckies, they made their way back over to the shaded bench for a water break.

Man do I love that face! 

Scott attempted to get a good mother's day picture of us, but Addi refused to smile.   

Totally refused. 

Oh well.  I know what her sweet smile looks like and I'm just happy I got a little lap/snuggle time at the park. 

After the park I was treated to dinner at Charleston's and then my day came to an end.  Even though it was completely uneventful, it was wonderful.

I also have to share the artwork that was sent home by Addison's teachers.  This was their mother's day project.  So sweet!!

snapshops

I went to my Snapshops class last Saturday and it was amazing!!  Ashley's house was darling, she is practically perfect in every way, her kids were angels and her husband, well lets just say he was super dad/husband!  He took care of all 4 kids and all 10 students all day long!  

Seriously, it was a perfect Saturday.  

So informative, so fun, so perfect, so inspiring.

Here are a few shots of Ashley teaching us a thing or two.  The lighting isn't great because we were messing with settings but when I got home, I realized these were the only pictures I got of her.  

We got to practice taking pictures of Ashley's kiddos.  Did I mention how cute they were??  And well behaved??  Her son, H, painted outside and let us all huddle around and take pictures.  He was a natural!

In the late afternoon session, we got to practice on some sweet babies.  This is Ashley's niece, Sweet P and might be the most beautiful baby I've ever seen.  Stunning!

(I started playing around some in Photoshop and retouched this one slightly.  I didn't have time to do the rest, but I think I might be hooked on that now too.  Great...that all I need is something else to be addicted to!)

I didn't really get any good shots of the two other boys.  They were walkers (or should I say runners) and my pregnant body could simply not keep up with them!  Just about the time I'd get down on the ground, they would take off in another direction!  Needless to say, I was worn out!

Here's Mr. R.  What a ham!  His daddy is a professional photographer (he's a SnapShops grad and got started that way!!) so this little guy is used to having a camera in his face.  Talk about working the camera...he's darling and he knows it!

What an amazing experience.  I consider myself to be so lucky to have even gotten in to Ashely's workshop.  Did I mention it's in pretty high demand?!?

I'm so inspired now to actually use the knowledge I have and to get better shots.  I have no excuse not to!  I've been so tired lately, as I've entered my 3rd trimester.  I've slowed down in taking pictures, especially just around the house of the simple things we do, but I'm all geared up and excited to start that again!  And once sweet baby Halle arrives, look out!  I've got lots of ideas up my sleeve!!

poppy's mess

Last weekend Addison and I headed to Ardmore to stay with LuLu and Poppy.  Before Christmas, they started construction on a pool and it's just about finished.  Addi's been calling it "Poppy's Mess"!  It looks so great and is so close to being finished! 

On Friday night Addi couldn't resist just sticking her hands in to test the waters...

Doesn't it look great??  Check out that HUGE shallow end. It's about a foot deep and large enough for several lounge chairs and it even has holes in the floor for umbrellas!

Addi got in the "little pool" aka hot tub with LuLu and Uncle Trevor and loved it. The temperature is very easy to control so according to Addi, it was just right! 

Saturday night after eating dinner outside in her swim suit, she insisted on getting back in!

In honor of the Royal Wedding two Fridays ago, the director of Addison's school set up quite the entrance table!  The kids absolutely LOVED it! Addi still loves pointing out Princess Kate's dress to me in the mornings and afternoons. She's going to be very sad when the decorations are taken down!

The Sunny Twos had a Royal Tea Party of their own on the wedding day and the girls even brought tiaras.  I so wish I could have been a fly on the wall for that tea party, but I couldn't make it up there.  Thankfully, one of Addison's teachers took some pictures on her phone and sent them to me.  Thank you Miss Lacy!!
