down on the farm

Well my blog posts are way out of order, but at least I'm posting, right?

Well last weekend MiMi and PaPa came for the day and took Addi to Orr Family Farm for their "opening day" of the season! We took Addi last fall and she liked it, but wasn't in to all of the activities...well this girl LOVED the farm this go 'round!!

They started the day out at the park near the entrance...

and then made their way over to the sandbox.

What's next?

Posing by the pig...

New shades

Carousel (for the first time...many more to come!)

Fishing with her new pink fishing rod!

She looks so much like Sherra in this picture!!

Carousel times 2-6...no lie!
Pink horse, of course!

Look! It matches my new shoes!

Just ONE more time, MiMi!

One handed!!

Next the animal barn...washing hands.

"Milking" the cow...

Love that face...such a hard worker!!

Finally the bouncy thing...it's like a bounce house without the sides.

I'd say she had a GREAT time!!!!

lazy sundays

It's not often that we all just sit down and do nothing, but on this particular Sunday, it's just what we needed!  Addi didn't exactly go down for a nap, so by 4pm she was exhausted!  I laid down for 2 minutes and before I knew it she was snuggled up next to me on the couch fast asleep!  Scott was on the other couch and we ended up watching an entire movie while Addi slept.

Don't you just love lazy Sundays?

weekend with lulu & poppy

When Scott and I were in St. Louis for a wedding a few weekends ago, LuLu and Poppy came to Norman to stay with Addison.  They had a big weekend planned but the weather was really crummy so they had to resort to inside activities.

One Saturday I ran into Lowe's to get something and it sounded like roofers were in there.  It was so loud and Addi insisted that we find out what was happening.  It was their Build and Grow workshop and Addi wanted more than anything to stay.  We didn't have time so I promised that she could do it soon.  Poppy was just the person for the job so he took her while we were out of town.  What a success!

LuLu brought with her a Cinderella costume that she bought while we were in NYC.  Look at how excited this little princess was!!  She doesn't have them on in the pictures, but she has light up Cinderella shoes too!

Watching the movie while she's dressed up, of course!

Thanks LuLu and Poppy for the great weekend!!

potty business

Well I have not been the best about documenting things in chronological order lately, but I had to interrupt my sequence to make a HUGE announcement!  Yesterday Addi wore her big girl panties to school for the first time AND stayed dry the entire day!!!

We worked really hard on Sunday and she had a fantastic day!

She's really getting the hang of it and likes wearing her panties much more than the pull ups!

Sometimes she gets board with just sitting, and that's when we drag out the potty books!

She's really been interested in training for about a month now.  When she moved into the Sunny Two's at school, I'm pretty sure the peer pressure got her immediately!  So much so that we've had to have a little talk about Potty Business.  Everyone has their own Potty Business and it's very rude and inappropriate to be in other friends' Business.  Therefore, we've coined the phrase "Mind your own Potty Business!"  It's been working well since we've implemented this philosophy and we haven't gotten any more notes sent home from school about Addison disrupting the other kids while they were trying to go! Of course we had to bribe her with fruit snacks, but oh well.

I'm pretty sure she spent most of yesterday at school just like this saying, "Look at my Minnies!!!!".  I've had numerous reports from school like, "I got to see Addi's Minnies today!"  I'm just excited that she's excited!  At what point is this not okay?  We'll cross that bridge when we get there so for now, Addi-girl, you can show those Minnies to anyone you'd like!!

Since she had such a successful Potty Business day, we rewarded her with a purple slushee from Sonic.  What a treat!  This girl was super excited!!

Great job Addi-Girl!!!  We are SO proud of you!!!!!!

weekend with mimi & papa

When I went to NYC a few weekends ago, MiMi and PaPa came to Norman to help with Addi.  Of course they all had a great weekend!!  I don't know the stories behind the pics, but here they are for your interpretation!

Feeding the ducks at the pond.

Park time!

This girl LOVES to swing....

and swing...

and swing!

She's also a fan of the BIG yellow slide!

They also ventured to our favorite new park at the First Baptist Church!

Look who was there...Meg!
I absolutely adore her shades!!

This picture cracks me up!

Picnic time!

Front yard fun...look at the toes of those Toms!  What a little hippie child!

I get this look all the time!

Inspecting the bird poop on the stones.  Such a funny girl!

Thanks for coming MiMi & PaPa!
