weekend swimming

I have a feeling this is going to be a very fun summer!!  We went to the pool again over the weekend and Addi had an absolute BLAST!!!  She's warming up to the water (finally!) and she's even jumping in!  We decided that her life jacket was too big so we bought her a Puddle Jumper.  She fought us in the beginning but once she saw MO wearing one, she thought it was great...such a follower!

SATURDAY
Swimming Fun with Dada!

The girls decided it was snack time so we took a break on our towels.  Olivia was standing up eating Chex Mix and she popped her right foot up and struck a pose!  Addi thought she should do the same thing (I'm telling you, she's a follower) so she struck a pose too.  These two crack me up!!!

 Back to the pool!

 Jumping to Mama!

 "Hi Dada!"

The girls thought it was so much fun to jump off the top step of the ladder.
Here's MO about to jump and Addi waiting her turn.

Addi's turn!
One, Two, Three, GO!!!

Sunday
Another hot and sunny day at the pool!

Another super cute swim suit with ruffles!

More pool fun with Dada!

"Addi, try blowing bubbles in the water like your friend Porter..."

"And Dada..."

"NOOOOOO!!!!"

"I just want to play with my toys!"

Liz also sent me a few pictures from last weekend that were really cute so I had to post them too!

"Dada, I saw a fish and it was THIS BIG!!"

We had such a fun weekend at the pool! Hope you're having fun in the sun too!

on the menu

A friend of mine gave me the cutest little notepad that you can plan your weekly menu on and even make your grocery list!  It's really is so nifty!  However, I have my own little system of planning meals and making my shopping list, so I decided to use it for another purpose...blog planning!!

It works perfectly!
I just write the subject by each day of the week and then I can list the image numbers on the grocery side.  It's so great when I sit down to start blogging...I know exactly what I've already done and what I have left to do.  You should pick one up and give it a try!!

Black Bean Chicken was on our real menu last week and it was so tasty!!

Black Bean Chicken

Ingredients:
2 chicken breasts
1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
Pepperjack cheese
Cumin
Paprika

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Place chicken in a prepared casserole dish.  Sprinkle cumin and paprika on both sides of chicken breasts.  Cover chicken breasts with slices of pepperjack cheese.  Pour black beans over chicken and spread evenly over chicken.  Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.  If chicken is soupy, uncover and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes.

I'm telling you, this is so easy and really, really good!  Addi even loves it!!!

i'm lovin' it!

Okay well my post last week about what I've been lovin' lately went over really well.  Here are a few more things I've been lovin'...

1. Neutrogena Spectrum Advanced Sunblock SPF 100
This stuff is awesome!  I've tried just about every sunblock out there (and probably spent hundreds of dollars) and this is the first one that I've actaully been pleased with.  I have to wear it under my make up every day (even though my make up has some SPF in it).  It goes on very smooth and doesn't make my skin feel greasy under my makeup.  When you have skin as fair as mine, even a cloudy day can leave you burned!  I {heart} this stuff!!!

2. Bumble and Bumble 'Does it All' Hairspray
I really don't like my hair to look "sprayed".  I love this product because it gives flexible hold and just helps overall styling.  I have tons of little flyaways and this typically helps tame them...on a good day! I also really like the smell!

3. Pond's Wet Cleansing Towelettes
What did I do before these things??  My sister-in-law, Jackie, got me hooked on them about 4 years ago.  I use them year round as makeup remover, but I especially love them during the hot summer months.  I keep them in my pool bag...they are great when you've been outside and are hot and sweaty.  I'm telling you, they are just so refreshing.  If you use them at the beach or pool, don't forget to reapply sunblock!  Pick up a package next time you're at the store...you won't regret it!!

4. Country Time Strawberry Lemonade
This stuff is so refreshing on a hot day!  It's a staple in our refrigerator during the summer!!

Same question as last week...what have you been lovin' lately??

lulu and poppy time

On our way down to Dallas for the Jimmy Buffett concert, we spent the night with LuLu and Poppy on Friday night.  Every time we go, Addi loves to explore!  LuLu has a little playroom set up for Addi with some new toys and books, but my favorite things are the old toys from my childhood!  My wooden rocking horse, baby doll bed and baby carriage bring back so many memories.   I'm so happy that Addi is now making memories with Mama's old toys!

After she checked everything out upstairs, Addi wanted to take her baby doll on a walk outside in the baby doll stroller.

She quickly got board with that, so LuLu pulled out the sidewalk chalk!!  Oh boy!!

"AIRPLANE!!!!!"

"Sidewalk chalking is hard work! Time for a juice break!"

"Here's the mail Poppy!!!'

"Let's go to the backyard and watch Dada hit golf balls!"

"My turn!"

"I think a bug flew into my ear.  Let's go inside now..."
