Seagove Beach Vacation...

We are finally back in Oklahoma after a very wonderful and much needed vacation to Florida! We left for Seagrove Beach on July 2nd and just got back on Saturday. The trip was so much fun! My parents rented a house 1 block from the beach and my brother and Jackie went too. Down there all the houses have cute and clever names and ours was Stairway to Heaven…and that it was! I realized when we were heading home that I didn’t really take any pictures of the house. Click here to see the rental website's pictures.

Addison was such a trooper the entire trip. The 16-hour drive down and back were a little rough at times, but that was to be expected! She just went with the flow and loved every minute. It is official…she is 100% spoiled rotten now…as if she wasn’t already! We took her everywhere with us and she had a great time! There was no type of schedule at all which was fine with her…if she was sleepy, she’d go to sleep no matter where we were (the beach, shopping, etc.) and she stayed up WAY past her bed time!

4th of July Breakfast at Rosemary Beach…she was such a little firecracker!!!

Our first day at the beach was July 4th and it was so much fun. Addison’s little eyes just lit up when she saw the water and the waves. She loved everything about the water! This girl has no fear…the bigger the waves the better! She would just squeal when a wave would come up and then crack up as it got her feet wet!

I can just hear her laughing in this picture…she had an absolute blast!

Addison’s new favorite place to sit! She just smiles ear to ear each time she’s perched up there!

Playtime with LuLu

We bought this little tent for her to use at the beach, but that didn’t last 5 minutes! She’d much rather be crawling on the sand than stuck in some tent! What was I thinking?? LuLu took a large quilt where she would play and nap.

4th of July fun with Aunt Jackie

We put Addison down for a little nap at dinnertime on the 4th so she would be well rested for the firecrackers on the beach! This is the only group pic we got right before we dug in to our shrimp boil…yum yum!!!

Addison didn’t quite know what to think of the firecrackers at first. She just clung to me and whimpered, but never really cried. By the end she liked watching them as long as we all 6 clapped and yelled “YAY!!!”. Two words: Well Trained!!! The firecrackers were just amazing! We were on the beach smack dab in the middle of two huge shows that were great…it was just perfect!

Clapping with LuLu

Happy Birthday America!!

Still clapping when we got home…

Our room would be filled with the morning light, so she woke up between 5:30 and 6:00 each morning. She’d have her bottle outside on the porch and then we’d walk to the beach so we wouldn’t wake the rest of the house up. She loved the little green rocking chair on the porch…she figured out how to make it rock on her own! Such a smartie!

Waving at the waves with Da Da.

Beach fun with Ma Ma.

Waving at the waves again...

And clapping too!

On Monday, we met with a photographer and had family pictures taken at Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach. Jacklyn Ward was the photographer and she is FABULOUS!!! She was so easy to work with and great with Addison! Addi really took to her too and really worked the camera too…I know you are shocked! She was such a ham so I know we got some great shots. I told Scott we may have to take out a loan to buy pictures…he thought I was joking, but I wasn’t! She posted a sneak peek on her blog!

After dinner beach pics…

More morning porch fun. She loved eating Cheerios out of the bowl on her play table (that was LuLu’s idea)!

This is her new smile since her tooth came in…she squints her eyes and gives you an open-mouth smile to make sure you can see her new addition!

The neighborhood where we stayed had a beautiful swimming pool. We’d stop everyday on the way home to rinse off and cool down. Yes, the lily pad made the trek to Florida with us just for the pool…it just wouldn’t be the same without it! Addi accidentally dunked her face in the water on the first day and since then loves to “go under”!! She is just a little fish!!

Last day at the beach…

On Wednesday (July 8th) she cut her first tooth! She really didn’t act like it bothered her much so we really weren’t expecting it. It hasn’t quite popped all the way up yet, but you can definitely see it when she smiles. In addition to her tooth, she also grew some hair while we were there! I know you really can’t tell from the pictures, but it’s there and really blonde! She has also started pulling up like a pro and will be walking/running in no time! You can just see it in her eyes that when she gets it figured out, there will be no stopping her! When we got home this weekend, we lowered her crib to the lowest level so she doesn’t topple right over the edge. She’s such a little dare devil that she really would do it!

Leaving to come home really was so hard, but we had such a great time and made some wonderful memories with the fam! Aside from spoiling Addi, we still managed to find time to play all sorts of games. No Potts Family Vacation would be complete without hundreds of hands of Gin Rummy and several tournaments as well. We also squeezed in some games of spades and a fabulous charades tournament. Our favorite, however, was the ever-popular Spoons! I don’t know when I’ve laughed that hard! It was absolutely hysterical!! Every one of us was out to win and there was no getting in the way. There were several full body dives over the table and lots of hitting, grabbing, pinching, cussing, screaming and laughing (I have no idea how Addison slept through it, but she did!)!!!! Most of us woke up the next morning with our proud battle scars…bumps, bruised, gashes…you know the usual! We also got a kick out of Jackie acting out SNL skits…“classic Jackie!”

Thanks to LuLu and Pops for a fabulous vacation!!! We can’t wait to go back!
